The Daily Use of Webbing Sling

Webbing slings (synthetic fiber slings) are generally made of high-strength polyester filaments, which have multiple advantages such as high strength, wear resistance, oxidation resistance, and UV resistance. At the same time, they are soft, non-conductive, and non-corrosive (no harm to the human body), are widely used in various fields. Webbing slings (according to the appearance of the sling) are divided into two categories: flat slings and round slings.

Webbing slings are generally used in flammable and explosive environments, and do not generate any sparks during application. The world's first synthetic fiber flat sling has been successfully used in the field of industrial hoisting in the United States since 1955. It has been widely used in ships, metallurgy, machinery, mining, petroleum, chemical industry, ports, electric power, electronics, transportation, military, etc. The sling is portable, easy to maintain, and has good chemical resistance, as well as light weight, high strength, and is not easy to damage the surface of the lifting object. It is more and more favored by users and has gradually replaced steel wire ropes in many aspects.

The bearing quality can be identified through the color of the outer sleeve of the sling after the label on the sling is worn during use. Safety factor: 5:1, 6:1, 7:1, the new industry standard EN1492-1:2000 is the executive standard for flat slings, and EN1492-2:2000 is the executive standard for round slings.

When selecting the specifications of the sling, the size, weight, shape of the load to be lifted, as well as the lifting method to be used must be taken into consideration in the calculation of the use mode coefficient of common influence, given the requirements for the limit working force, and the working environment. , the type of load must be considered. It is necessary to choose a sling with sufficient capacity and the appropriate length to meet the use method. If multiple slings are used to lift the load at the same time, the same type of sling must be used; the material of the flat sling cannot be affected by the environment or load.

Flat Webbing Sling

Follow good lifting practices, plan your lifting and handling method before starting the lifting. Use the correct connection method of the sling when hoisting. The sling is correctly placed and connected to the load in a safe manner. The sling must be placed on the load so that the load can balance the width of the sling; never knot or twist the sling.

Caution

1. Do not use damaged slings;
2. Do not twist the sling when loading;
3. Do not let the sling tie when using;
4. Avoid tearing the sewing joint or overloading work;
5. Do not drag the sling when moving it;
6. Avoid the load on the sling caused by robbery or shock;
7. The sling without sheath should not be used to carry goods with sharp corners and edges.
6. The sling should be stored in the dark and without ultraviolet radiation.
7. The sling should not be stored next to an open flame or other heat sources.
8. Each sling must be carefully checked before use;
9. Polyester has the function of resisting inorganic acid, but it is easily damaged by organic acid;
10. Fiber is suitable for places with the most resistance to chemicals;
11. Nylon has the ability to withstand strong mechanical acid and is easily damaged by acid. When it is damp, its strength loss can reach 15%;
12. If the sling is contaminated by chemicals or used at high temperature, you should ask your supplier for a reference.
